If you're looking for a top notch B&B, your search can stop here!
If you are looking for charm, comfort, a peaceful setting, meticulous gardens and the friendliest hostess Darlene serving up a delicious breakfast and more, you've found it! LLR has thought of everything, the decor and thoughtful touches are lovely in this Spanish hacienda meets Equestrian ranch complete with carrots to feed the resident horses. They are conveniently located just minutes from downtown San Luis Obispo with easy access to restaurants and shops. If wineries are on your to do list they are close by too. LLR even has their own wine. Only regret, we couldn't stay longer! Thank you, Darlene for your hospitality. Looking forward to the next visit.
Unbelievably beautiful grounds & location.
You will not find a more gorgeous setting. The ranch is literally minutes from downtown SLO but it feels like it's secluded. I could retire to a place like this.
The Ranch was much more than we could have anticipated.
The grounds, our room, the lounge... all of it was beyond anything we could imagine. Darlene, the property manager, was incredibly efficient and kind, thoughtful and helpful. Her breakfasts were great, delicious and healthy. The complimentary wine-tasting led by Katrina was one more special touch, with delicious wines from the ranch itself. Cannot say enough of how awesome it all was!
The photos don't do justice!
Such a hidden gem, we've been to SLO twice before but our first stay here, lovely combo of luxury touches while still nice and cozy. Breakfast was delicious and host was part of the family that runs it, very warm and welcoming and knowledgable! Just a short ride from the airport but we felt like we were out in the middle of Central California's wine country. We loved the complimentary tasting and the wine, the grenache was our favorite! And so many good wineries nearby, we need a full trip to visit them all. The rooms and landscaping were immaculate (the roses!!!! 😍) 5-10 mins drive from the downtown San Luis Obispo shops and restaurants. Already missing our stay, can't wait to come back!
We absolutely loved our trip here!
The family who runs it is so nice and accommodating, and the space is incredibly beautiful. The breakfast is amazing too! The location is very convenient to lots of hikes, beaches, and restaurants. We hope to come back soon!
From the moment we approached the gates of La Lomita Ranch, we knew we were in for an experience of epic hospitality.
The ranch displays meticulous care and aesthetic taste, with beautifully well-kept landscapes radiating elegance. We spent three peaceful nights in the Hacienda, a stunning 3-bedroom, 2-bath retreat that combines rustic charm with modern comfort. The heart of the ranch, however, lies in its people. Darlene, embodying attentive service, ensured our stay was nothing short of extraordinary. Each morning, she served a scrumptious breakfast and charmed us with warm conversation and her infectious smile. As a side note: the ice cream was a tantalizing treat. Nick, the General Manager, personified guest-friendly character, showcasing flexibility and a relational approach that tailored every aspect of our visit to perfection. The wine tasting experience with Anneke highlighted our stay, offering a friendly and relaxed atmosphere that invited us to unwind and savor the eloquent wines produced from La Lomita's estate vineyards. The La Lomita Ranch family not only offers a place to stay but they also open their hearts, treating you as their own family. For anyone looking to be surrounded by natural beauty, genuine warmth, and exceptional service, La Lomita Ranch is a must-visit destination.
Staying at La Lomita was like a dream!
From the perfectly curated rooms to the European-style breakfast, everything felt very intentional and had us enjoying every moment. The location struck the perfect balance for us, providing proximity to wineries in Edna Valley while still being conveniently close to the heart of downtown SLO. We cannot wait to come back the next time we're in town!
Our stay at La Lomita was excellent!
My husband and I were looking for a getaway for our anniversary and found this gem. It's a beautiful place for a retreat and it's not far from the city or the wineries. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. We also tried their wine which we enjoyed very much. The view is amazing with an overview of a pond (ducks included) and beautiful hills. We cannot wait to go back again. We highly recommend this for couples who need to get away from the busy every day routine.
My wife and I stayed here about two weeks ago.
Everything about our trip exceeded our expectations from the beautiful scenery, to the interactions with a greatly accomodating staff, to the amenities themselves. The ranch is about 12 minutes from downtown SLO, and maybe 15 minutes from Avila beach, providing great opportunities no matter your interests. They maintain beautiful horses in their stable that my 3 and 5 year olds had a blast feeding, and on our trip they even had a newborn litter of kittens, as well as some baby calves. I highly recommend, and plan to return in the future.
Our stay at La Lomita Ranch was a perfect retreat!
The room was spacious, exceptionally clean and just lovely. The bath linens and bedding were high quality, soft and luxurious. For us, the location was ideal. The ranch itself is remote enough to provide a peaceful retreat, while being 15 minutes from great hiking, beaches and the towns of Avila Beach, Pismo Beach, and the city of SLO... and 1/2 hour from Paso Robles, Montana de Oro, Morro Bay, etc. We went to amazing restaurants, hiked some of the best trails and saw beautiful beaches -- all very accessible from La Lomita. What really made the experience so special was the service -- everyone was friendly and went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating, without pretentiousness or intrusiveness. The breakfast service was wonderful -- as are Darlene's frittatas! We will most certainly stay with La Lomita Ranch in the future!
My wife and I just celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary!
Darlene and Bree were the best peops and the breakfast was soo good with the best french pressed coffee with toast fresh home made Jam and amazing Frittatas!!!! I would definitely recommend to all who inquire as a place to be close To SLO and wine country-Excellent grounds! We even were close enough to walk/jog to the wineries! 7 minutes from SLO city and 30 minutes from Paso Robles!!! Was all you can ask for-Relaxing and close to anything you would ever want to do!
